TuE quantities of land required the number position and
character of stations the provision of telegraphic service the positions
of sidings and all other details shall be settled between the two
Governments with the assistance of the consulting engineers and
shall be such that the line when constructed shall be a first-class
railway on the standard gauge of 4 feet 8 inches with all necessary
accessories for the working of the traffic which may be reasonably
expected thereon.
5. THE Construction of the two sections shall be of the same
substantial character to the satisfaction of the consulting engineers
and each Government shall be responsible for all defects of
construction which shall appear on its section during the period of
two years after the opening of the line.
6. THE rolling stock supplied by each Government shall be of
the same kind and be used throughout the whole line and shall be
provided by the two Governments and thereafter owned by them in
shares proportioned to the mileage of their respective sections.
7. THE date fixed for the completion of the construction and
equipment and for the opening of the railway is the
day of

such circumstances of force majeure as hereinbefore referred to.
8.--BOTH during construction and afterwards during the working
of the line each Government shall keep a sufficient body of police to
