I am directed by the Marquess of Lansdowne to ac-
knowledge the receipt of your letter of the 6th. in-
stant respecting the disposal of the ammunition at
Hongkong which was seized on board the Steamship Tung
and to state that in His Lordship's opinion the
matter should stand over until the Treaty of Peace be-
