Sir:-
I am directed by the Marquess of Lansdowne to
transmit to you herewith a copy of a note which has
been received from the Russian Chargé d'Affaires 7
transmitting two cigarette cases for presentation to
the Honourable Milford Atkinson M.B.,D.P.H. Principal
Civil Medical Officer, HongKong, and to John Bell,
Esq., M.R.C.S. Superintendent of Government Civil
Hospital and Government Lunatic Asylum, in recogni-
tion of the services rendered by them to the Rus-
sian sailors wounded at Chemulpo.
It is presumed that those services were in con-
nection with the ten men landed from His Majesty's
Ship "Talbot" at HongKong for medical treatment, of
whom mention is made in your letter 10940/1904 of
March 30th, 1904.
I am to request that the cases may be forwarded
