I have laid before my Lords Commissioners of

the Admiralty your letter of 12th ultimo, transmitting copies of correspondence with the Eastern Extension Telegraph Company on the subject of licences for Wireless Telegraph installations in Hong Kong, Singapore, Labuan, and British North Borneo.

In reply I am commanded by their Lordships to acquaint, you for the information of Mr Secretary Lyttelton that the wave length of 1100 feet specified in the enclosure to the Company's letter is the same as that of B tune which probably will become the Commercial wave length. It is there- foro, in their Lordships' opinion, undesirable that the East- ern Telegraph Company should be permitted to use it. A wave length of 2000 feet would be suitable but would probably require more power than the Company propose to use

My Lords desire me to request you will mova Mr Lyttelton to cause enquiry to be made of the Company as to what power they would propose to employ with a wave length of 2000 facts

The printed enclosure to your letter of 3rd June addressed to the Eastern Extension Telegraph Company is roturned herewith as requested.

The UNDER

SECRETARY OF STATE,

COLONIAL OFFICE.

I am, Sir,

Your Obedient. Servant,

Сябры C. E. Tammar
