of 190 5.
I have examined the accompanying Ordinance, entitled
An Ordinance relating to the Vaintenance of
Married Tonen deserted by their Pusbands,
and I am of opinion that the Ordinance is one which is not contrary to
the Governor's Instructions,
The purpose of this Ordinance is to confer upon
Yagistrates a summary jurisdiction to compel a husband who
deserts his wife or who by his conduct drives his wife bo
leave him to provide reasonable maintenance for her and her
children, if any.
