I have examined the accompanying Ordinance, entitled
An Ordinance further to amend the Protection of
Tomen and Girls riinance, 1997,
and I am of opinion that the Ordinance is one which is not contrary to
the Governor's Instructions.
The purpose of this Ordinance is to afford further and
better protection to girls by amending the law with regard to
procuration and abduction and to provide for the reception in
certain cases of the evidence of children of tender years
though not given on oath or affirmation. Tith that object
section A (1) (a) and section 23 of the Protection of Tomen
and Girls Ordinance, 1997, have been amended by raising the
