The advisability of amending
Sections 4 (1 a) and 26 of the Principal Ordinance was
suggested in the Report of the Registrar-General for the
year 1904 forwarded under cover of my Despatch No. 102 of
12th. April last and was referred to in the 3rd. paragraph
of that Despatch. The question prior to its being consider-
-ed in Executive Council was fully discussed at a joint
Meeting of the Po Leung Kuk and District Watchmen's Com-
-mittees when the members expressed themselves as in agree-
-ment with the amendments now embodied in the Ordinance.
