I have the honour to forward for
your consideration the enclosed copy of a Report by the
Assistant Harbour Master on the subject of the means of
A
communication between the Harbour Office and the various
Stations now indirectly connected with it and to inform
you that I propose to place a sum of $8,901, as detailed
below, upon the Estimates for the ensuing year for the
purpose of effecting the following alterations and improve-
-ments in the system of communication.

I propose to make the Harbour
Office instead of the Joint Telegraph Companies' Office the
terminus for the lines from Gap Rock, Victoria Peak and
Waglan Island (via Cape D'Aguilar) and to substitute Tele-
-graph for Telephone Instruments for communication with
Green Island, Victoria Peak and Waglan (via Cape D'Aguilar).
