1 beg to acknowledge the receipt of your
letter 4146/1905 0.9.0.Conf. conveying to me His Excellency's
censure for my grave neglect of duty in connection with Dr.
Laing's condition on the night of May 9th.
The censure is a very grave matter to me
and I would be glad if you would lay before His Excellency the
following remarks in the hope that he will be good enough to
take a more lenient view of my neglect of duty on this un-
-fortunate occasion.
I have been over 20 years in the practice
18 years in this Colony

Government Medical Department.

Superintendent (1896), Acting Principal Civil Medical Officer
