In reply to your letter (7444/04/C.S.0.) of the 15th. instant enclosing certain charges against me, I have the "

honour to say that I have to admit the charges made against me.

My only excuse for my conduct is that I have lately had con-

-siderable family troubles to contend with and I unfortunately

gave way to drink. I now see my felly and can only implore

forgiveness and promise that if it is granted I will not give

way again.
