are shewn on Sheet No. 2.

It will be noticed that the years 1895 to

1898 cover a period of low rainfall the years 1595 to 1998 and 1898 to 1997 being very dry years and this period has been select-

-ed for investigation.

There is not sufficient data yet avaliable

to calculate the yield from the catchment area by direct measure-

sents but a fair approximation can be made from the rainfall statistics. The catchment area being large and varied in

character a fair assumption to take is as follows:-

Months

konths

Months

-

Direct Catchment Area.

May to September inclusive 60% of the rainfall avaliable for Storage in reservoir.

Üctober to April inclusive 23% of the rainfall avail- -able for Storage in keservoir.

Catchment Area already intercepted by a Catchwater. May to September inclusive 20% of the rainfall avail- -able for Storage in Reservoir.

have been prepared.

Ün these assumptions Tables Nos. 1, 2 and 3

Tabie No. 1 gives the yield from the Direct

Catchment for the years 1995 to 1998.

Table No. 2 gives the yield from the Intercep-

ted Catchment for the years 1895 to 1998.

Table No. 3 combines tables Nos. 1 and 2 and

gives the total yield from both Catchment Areas.

Table No. 3 is shewn plotted as a curve On

Sheet No. 3 and from this curve the relation between yield,

supply and storage can be easily got.

1.

Deductions.

That a supply averaging 5 #ilion gallons a

day for the months of Uctober to April inclusive is all that
