In reply to your Confidential Despatch of
the 5th. ultimo, I have the honour to inform you that the
Company of F. L. Mondon, Limited, was registered here on the
26th. of March,
1902.
It is a Shanghai Company and has no branch
in this Colony. According to the list of shareholders filed
with the Registrar of Companies on 28th. May, 1903, there were
28 Foreign and 26 British shareholders. The large majority of
the shares were, however, held by E. L. Mondon and other
Foreigners and I do not consider that the business can proper..
ly be called a British concern.
The list of shareholders for 1904 has not
2.
yet been filed.
3.
The business carried on by the Company is
that of a General Store and Ship Chandlery. The Company has
branches in most of the more important Northern Ports.
I have the honour to be, Sir,
Your most obedient
Humble servant,
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE
ALFRED LYTTELTON, K.0., M.P.、
