Statement in defence:

The trial was on March 1st, which will bear out my statement. I have now discharge in my possession.
I am now taking action in Clerical Secretary of the Board against Captain Ruslade (Marine Department) for the recovery of my wages. I humbly beg that you will be pleased to grant me relief from Hong Kong, as this fact was not known to the Marine Magistrate at the time of my trial on March 1st.
The evidence at the trial on March 1st will bear out my statement which I have handed to you.
