I am directed by the Marquess of Lansdowne to acknowledge the receipt of your letter 41133/1904 of the 10th instant respecting Major J. J. O'B. Sexton's claim for an allowance of fifteen shillings a day as First Class Interpreter in connection with the internment in Hongkong of the Russian officers and men from the "Burni”.
The application appears to Lord Lansdowne to be reasonable and, if the Army Council concur, His Lordship would be prepared to include the charge in the amount to be eventually reclaimed from the Russian Government.
