RECO

TRE IS JUN 04!

January 23rd, 1904.

Dear Sir Robert:-

With reference to my letter of November 21st, regarding the contemplated postal agreement with Hongkong, I addressed Mr. May, the Officer at present administering the Colony on December 1st last, and have now received from him a reply that as far as Hongkong interests are concerned, there is no objection to an agreement between the Imperial Chinese Post Office and the Hongkong Post Office on the lines of the Franco-Chinese Agreement, with the exception of a small alteration in the clause relating to parcels. He adds that the Postmaster-General is addressing the Postal Secretary at Peking on the subject.

I wrote on November 30th to the Foreign Office on the same subject, but there has not yet been time for me to receive a reply from England.

Believe me, &c.,

(Signed)
