SECTION 1.

Sir,
No. 1.
Board of Trade to Foreign Office.-(Received April 20.)
Board of Trade, April 19, 1904.
I AM directed by the Board of Trade to refer to your letter of the 2nd ultimo, transmitting a copy of a despatch from the Commercial Attaché to His Majesty's Legation at Peking, inclosing a copy of a despatch addressed by him to His Majesty's Minister, respecting certain proposed regulations to govern the registration of trade marks in China, and, in reply, I am to state, for the information of Lord Lansdowne, that the Board prefer the wording of Rule 6 suggested by Mr. Jamieson.
The operation of the rule should, however, be confined to marks resembling marks already registered "in respect of the same class of goods."
I am, &c. (Signed) T. W. P. BLOMEFIELD.
