be acceptable to all parties.

If Mr. Secretary Lyttelton should see no

objection to the adoption of this course, a communica-

tion will be addressed to the Lords Commissioners of

His Majesty's Treasury in which the concurrence of

Their Lordships will be requested.

The Army Council would propose that,

pending the result of the local inquiry, the meetings of the joint conference should be suspended.
