My Lord would be glad if the present for at Mongkong could be instructed to ... the for the ... in question if it was not the ... 26 July 187, & also to furnish him with a full reply to it is most desirable that all outstanding questions as regards mil reserve lands in Hongkong should be cleared up satisfactorily;
It may be decided that whatever rights, if any, of WO over the whole of the land coloured yellow in plan A, Mil. gathers that the War Office now only asks for rights over the land bounded by the red dotted line in the larger plan, and does not now heren. I gave almost the remainder of the area coloured yellow in plan A.
A copy of this letter & our reply will be sent to For. for conson, & back to WO, asking for another copy of each of the plans for record here, including copy of once, & plans in original to For. for conso.
[I do not know whether meanwhile you are going to send any reply to ... No. Sin M. Nathan hopes to arrive at a reasonable compromise after his arrival.]
