On the 13th instant I had the wreck examined.
It is lying in a small bay about 10 miles beyond the eastern extremity of British territory surrounding this harbour. The condition of the vessel is as described in Enclosure No: 2.

4.- The crew brought their rifles, pistols, and bayonets with them; these arms were placed on board the "Vengeance", and I submit that they may be thrown overboard in deep water.
