Our clients under the circumstances naturally consider
(and we submit reasonably so) that if they are to be denied
any compensation for the loss of the property, they should
at any rate be reimbursed to the full extent of the amount
paid by them to their Vendor subsequent to the Land Court
Judgment (under which our clients' Vendors were, as trustees for
our clients, clearly entitled either to the property or com-
pensation for its value), and the costs of Architects, Coun-
sel, and Solicitors incurred by them.
We have now accordingly the honour to respectfully re-
quest that you will reconsider the basis on which you have
directed the assessment of the compensation in question, in
order that such assessment may be a reimbursement in full to
our clients of the expenditure incurred by them.
We are,
sir,
Your most obedient Servants,
Gwens & Haretou.
