I am commanded by the Army Council to acknowledge receipt of your letter, No: 1524/04-5, of the 27th ultimo, transmitting two copies of Remarks, No: 364 R., by the Colonial Defence Committee on the Report of the Hong Kong Volunteers, 1904.

In reply I am to acquaint you that the Council concur in the Remarks of the Committee.

I am to add that the copy of Remarks enclosed in your letter under reply for transmission to the General Officer Commanding the Troops, South China, will be forwarded to that Officer in due course.
