Staff.
hospital and for surgical appliances and drugs for that hospital and for the one at the Feak Hotel the Principal Civil Medical Officer will indent on the Deputy Inspector-General. The furniture bedding, crockery, kitchen utensils and other articles forming the equipment of the Feak hotel will, under Section of the Order in Council above referred to, be taken over at the same time as the building itself by an Officer of the Public Works Department in the presence of a representative of the proprietors and of an officer detailed by the Principal Civil Medical Officer.
The Principal Civil Medical Officer will furnish the Deputy Inspector-General of Hospitals, and Principal Medical Officer with whatever information those Officers may require for the purpose of official returns with regard to the Naval and Military sick and wounded in the Hospitals administered by the Principal Civil Medical Officer.
Naval and Military patients in these Hospitals are to be visited periodically by a Naval or Military Officer as the case may be for this purpose.
5.
It was decided that it was not possible to provide locally any Staff required for the Naval Hospital and Hospital Ships beyond attendance for two hours every day by the following Civil Practitioners who have expressed themselves as willing to help in Naval or Military Hospitals in war provided they have time to attend to their private practices:-
Mrs. Stedman, Rennie, and Marriot.
It is therefore imperative for the proper care of the 600 cases to be dealt with in this hospital and in these ships that the two additional hospital Ships which the Deputy Inspector-General has recommended should be sent from England to the China Fleet on outbreak of war should carry double Staffs of whom half should be appropriated for the two hospital Ships fitted out at Hongkong for service in them as long as the war continues.
