Accommodation for military sick and wounded
will, as already stated, be provided as laid down in the Defence Scheme. Until, however, the new Hospital above Bowen Road is completed, the Maternity Hospital (12 beds) at the Government Civil Hospital will be made available for seriously ill and wounded Military Officers so that they can have the advantage of female nursing.
Additional Civil requirements will be met by sending Chinese cases (Police and Destitutes) to the Tung Wah, Alice, and Nethersole Hospitals, and other women and children cases to the Victoria Hospital for Women and Children, keeping only one ward at the Government Civil Hospital for women requiring urgent treatment. The sick and wounded of the Chinese Coolie Corps will be treated at the Tung Wah Hospital.

The Matshed Annexe hospital for 200 Naval sick and wounded in the Government Civil Hospital compound, the hospital for 200 Naval convalescents and slight cases at the Peak Hotel, and the Military Officers' wards in the present Maternity Hospital will be administered by the Principal Civil Medical Officer who will keep an account of expenditure involved for subsequent adjustment with the Admiralty and War Office.
The erection of the Matsheds in the Government Civil Hospital Compound and any structural alterations required at the Peak Hotel will be carried out by the Director of Public Works who will keep an account for similar adjustment.
