by the collapse of a wall in War Department Property and partly

no doubt by the incomplete state at the time of the work of

diversion.

I would add that the interference with

the course of the Albany Nullah by the Colonial Government,

and also by the Military Authorities as regards that portion

of it that is within their lands, has been consistently in

the direction of improvement by the construction of training

walls which greatly reduce the natural movement of stuff down

the stream and consequently the chances of blockage. The Ad-

miralty have not been called upon to pay any of the expense

of constructing these training walls.
