Government House, Hong Kong, 1st June, 1904.

Sir,

With reference to your Despatch No. 108 of the 8th April last, I have the honour to inform you that the General Officer Commanding considers it desirable that the approval of the Army Council should be obtained for the Principal Military Medical Officer to act as arbitrator on the question of the use of the new Naval Hospital for Infectious Diseases for the treatment of Smallpox patients, and that the consent of the Admiralty should be obtained to the nomination of the Principal Military Medical Officer as arbitrator in the event of the Army Council agreeing to the appointment.

2. I shall be glad if you will be good enough to obtain the consent of both parties.

I have the honour to be,

Sir,

Your most obedient humble servant,

Officer Administering the Government.

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE ALFRED LYTTELTON, K.C., M.P.
