An Ordinance to amend The Merchant Shipping Consolidation Ordinance, 1899, and the Merchant Shipping Amendment Ordinance, 1903, in respect of lights to be exhibited on junks when under weigh.

Short title and construction.
Repeal of Section 13 of Ordinance No. 2 of 1903.
Repeal of sub-section (1) of section 25 of Ordinance No.36 of 1899 and new sub-section substituted therefor.
1. This Ordinance may be cited as The Merchant Shipping Amendment Ordinance, 1904, and shall be read and construed as one with the Merchant Shipping Consolidation Ordinance, 1899, hereinafter called the Principal Ordinance.
2. Section 13 of the Merchant Shipping Amendment Ordinance, 1903, is hereby repealed.
3. Sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Principal Ordinance is hereby repealed and the following sub-section (1) is substituted in place thereof:-
"(1) Every junk when under weigh within the waters of the Colony shall from sunset to sunrise cause to be exhibited a bright white light at the foremast head visible all round the horizon at a distance of at least one mile; and at the stern a bright white light visible at a distance of at least one mile. For each omission to comply with the requirements of this sub-section the Master or other person for the time being in charge shall be liable to a penalty not exceeding one hundred dollars."
