the execution of his duty to the Captain Superintendent of Police.

This arrangement will be made on the understanding that it is personal with Mr. Taylor, and may have to be reconsidered both in the case of a locum tenens in the post of Assistant Harbour Master during his absence, and also in that of the appointment of a successor to him in that Office. The arrangement should also be considered

as being in the nature of an experiment which may or may not work in practice, and in the latter case Mr. Taylor would have of course to unconditionally demit the office of Superintendent.
