Hongkong, 23rd March, 1904.

I have the honour to report that I have

granted to Mr. G. A. Woodcock, Secretary to the Sanitary Board,

four months less a day vacation leave on full pay, and with

the advice of the Executive Council 8 months and 1 day leave

of absence on half pay; leave to commence on the 30th instant.

Satisfactory arrangements have been made for the discharge

of Mr. Woodcock's duties during his absence.

The usual leave certificate is enclosed.

Mr. Woodcock has been granted permission

to apply for an extension of 6 months, but he understands

that leave beyond that to which he is entitled by resident

service can only be granted on special grounds.
