I attach an extract from the Minutes of the Council, from which you will observe that I was advised to suspend him from duty with a view to his dismissal from the Service.
Enclosure 3
January 1904.
C 5.
I may add that under the terms of his Agreement Mr. Grice may be called upon to refund the cost of his passage to the Colony. He cannot, however, be compelled to do so until his suspension has been confirmed by you, and in the event of his leaving for England before that time it will be necessary to request the Crown Agents to take steps for the refund of the amount in question.
I have the honour to be,
Sir,
Your most obedient
Humble servant,
A. Knutsford
Officer Administering the Government.
