Hong Kong Tramway.
With reference to your letter of the 4th instant, the section submitted by you is still under consideration, but as a matter of urgency and the matter is pressing now I write to let you know that I consider it highly advisable that the groove in the rails should not be more than ... in width. The reason for this is that, according to the drawing submitted by you the groove shores of ricksha wheels, is very ... liable. If ... it may cause serious accidents!
I have the honour to be,
Your Obedient Servant,
W. Chatham
Director of Public Works.
Head: Leigh Orange.
