to the Hong Kong Police Force China where I remained 3 years. The first two years I enjoyed the best of health
the third year of my service was most unlucky one for me. At the
beginning of the year 1902, I was stricken down with Enteric fever & laid up in hospital for three months. After recovering from that I met with a serious accident whilst on duty at a fire & was again laid up in hospital for two months & when I came out of hospital I was unable to perform my duty as a Constable properly, so I was put into a Station where the duties were not very
hard in hopes of regaining my health but this was not so as I was again stricken down with fever & obliged to return to hospital. The Doctor then

The injury I received prevents my obtaining any other Government situation & also of my doing any hard work. Since return home I have tried utmost to obtain a suitable situation but have been unable to do so. I left the Police Force with an excellent character & I may say that all my papers will stand every investigation. I do beg of you to carefully consider
