In reply to Mr. Lucas's letter No. 8355 on the subject of the Hong Kong Gazetteer of 1903, and the new Edition of the Hongkong Province Gazetteer, I beg to say that the ms. of that volume consists of 706pp. When Noronha & Co. had transmitted 614 pp. in proof, I sent them a telegram saying "Free 5m vistant" that they had "just mailed the last pages." Since then they have transmitted pp. 615-640 in proof.
