Miss Maude Abraham is an applicant for the post of Matron Nurse in the Colony of Hong Kong.

QUESTIONS.

1. Will you be good enough to state how long you have been acquainted with the applicant?

ANSWERS.

From November 1899 until now.

2. Under what circumstances does your knowledge of her commence?

This Abraham was a nurse here at this Hospital of which I am the Matron. She became a Sister in Charge of Nurses Recall Ward in 1902.

3. During the time you were acquainted with her was she

c. generally well conducted?

d. Was her health good?

4. If she has been employed under you, will you state the nature of her duties, and how she discharged them?

She is now in Charge of 50 women's Ophthalmic Wards. She has always discharged her numerous duties in a most thoroughly competent manner.

5. Will you state the cause of her leaving—whether by natural resignation, dismissal, or otherwise?

She wishes to go abroad. I am extremely sorry to lose her.

6. Do you consider her to be professionally qualified to undertake the duties of such an appointment as she now desires?

Yes

7. Are you aware of any circumstance tending to disqualify her for such an appointment?

No

9. The Secretary of State will be glad to receive any information which you may have to give respecting her character or qualifications in addition to what is contained in the answers to the foregoing questions.
