30449 15 AUG 05;
Sir,
The Committee desire me to write and inform you that they wish to recommend Miss Maude Abraham to the Secretary of State as a suitable candidate for the post of Sister in Hong Kong Nursing.
They have received excellent personal reports of Miss Abraham's work and character and have pleasure in recommending her for the appointment.
Owing to the absence abroad of the Matrons under whom Miss Abraham trained, that reference has been filled in by Miss Wadham a Matron at Cardiff now, Miss Richards, former acting Matron. Her present Matron speaks most highly of her and states that they are losing her services.
The Committee are sorry that it was not possible to find a candidate with special training in dispensing amongst those who applied.
