LETTER FROM THE FOREIGN OFFICE TO THE COMPTROLLER AND AUDITOR GENERAL.

Sir,
With reference to your letter 74 of the 12th instant on the subject of the passages to Hong Kong of junior members of the Colonial Audit Branch of your Department, one of whom it is proposed to detach every three years for duty in that Colony, where he will be trained in local audit work, with a view to employment later on in the Colonies or Protectorates, I am directed by the Marquess of Lansdowne to inform you that he concurs in the cost of such passages being apportioned among the Colonies and Protectorates as proposed in your letter under reply.
