I have the honour to forward herewith copy of War Office letter No. Hong Kong 83145 of 15th Nov. 1902, which is in connection with the acquisition of land by the War Office for the extension of the R.A. Barracks on Stonecutter's Island.

2. The land which it is considered will be required for the requisite extension, approaches, and Recreation ground, etc., is coloured green on the attached plan, and its area is computed to be 15a. 2r. 17p.

3. I am directed by His Excellency the General Officer Commanding to inquire what value, having regard to the remarks in the attached War Office letter, is put by the Colonial Government upon this area.

4. With regard to the last para. of the War Office letter herewith attached, His Excellency the General Officer Commanding understands that, in future, the whole Island having authoritatively been declared to be Military reserve, no permits to land on Stonecutters Island will be granted except by himself.

5. The return of the accompanying plan (which is a confidential one) is requested please.
