In reply to your letter, with enclosures, of the 23rd April last, respecting the Hong Kong Merchant Shipping Amendment Ordinance, No. 2 of 1903, I am directed by the Board of Trade to state, for the information of Mr. Secretary Chamberlain, that they have examined the Ordinance and see no reason why it should not be allowed to remain in operation.
