We have now the honour to address you again with

the Petition of Right of Messrs. Stephens & Howard of

which was lodged by us at the Home Office on the 28th Oct and to your letter No. B.37068/3 of the 14th December 19...

you inform us that His Majesty was not pleased to signify that the petition should be endorsed "Let Right be done" saying us that His Majesty was advised that the proper course for the Petitioners would be for them to apply to the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council for leave to appeal from the decision of

Hong Kong in the matter, if in the opinion of the Petitioners' legal advisers such leave was necessary and the case was fit for appeal.

Our Counsel, Mr. C. A. Cripps K.C. having advised his clients, the Petitioners, should apply to the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council for leave to appeal as suggested in your letter,

at once took the necessary steps for that purpose, and

Petition for leave to appeal, a copy of which we inclose

came on for hearing before the Judicial Committee on the 28th November last and after hearing Counsel the Petition was dismissed

with costs against our Clients -
