Mr. Graham,

Sir M. Ommanney,

Earl of Onslow.

Mr. Chamberlain,

With reference to your telegram of the 25th of December last I have the honour to inform you that the C.A. have been instructed to arrange for the printing of 500 copies of Professor Simpson's report on Plague in Hongkong, excluding those Appendices which have been printed in the Colony, and to forward 450 copies to you. The other 50 copies will be retained for use in this country. The Col. Cnc. has been asked privately to send home 50 copies of the Appendices above referred to, to complete these copies.

I should explain that 500 copies have been ordered instead of 300 as suggested in your telegram, because orders had already been given for lithographing 500 copies of the plans from Prof. Simpson and it was understood that 500 copies of the Appendices F, C, D, E, and F had also been printed. The cost of the additional 200 copies is very small.
