Under
Referring to your letter of the 31st ultimo,
No.50457/1902, relative to the control of wireless tele-
graphy in Hong Kong,- I am commanded by My Lords
Commissioners of the Admiralty to request you will inform the
Secretary of State that they concur generally in the terms
of the reply which it is proposed to address to the
Governor of the Colony on this subject.
2.- My Lords are however of opinion that with a view to
safeguarding Naval Interests in peace time, any license
issued by the Governor should also contain a clause
conferring power on the competent Naval Authorities, on
due notice being given, to stop all commercial signalling
for a period not exceeding two hours in any one day.
