your tel. of the 17to inst. accepting By-proposà

inst. that Mr. Nicolle should be deputed to

Ceylon for a few months from about the end
of next month, to advise the Colonial Govt.
on the subject of the new Financial Instruc-
tions, with salary at the rate of £1,000 a
year, and free passages at the expense of Cay-
lon.
Mr. Nicolle has accepted the ofier made
to him, and I have requested the 0.A.G. of B..
to inform you direct later on of the exact date
on which he will leave.
I enclose copy of a desp. which I have
addressed to the 0.A.G. of H.A. with re-
gard to Mr. Nicolle's mission.
