the Tai Hang Villages, whose case was reported to Mr. Chamber-
lain in Sir Henry Blake's Despatch No. 514 of the 19th.
0 September, 1902. The seven years lessees are prepared to
accept 75 years Leases to commence from 1st. January,
1899,
on payment of 15 cents per Square Foot Premium for conversion,
and Crown Rent at the rate of $350 per acre, which is the same
Crown Rent as is paid by them at present. With regard to the
21 years lessees I am of opinion that the Premium should be
10 cents instead of 15 cents per Square Foot, in order to
adjust the difference in values between seven and twenty-one
years Leases. These terms the lessees have notified their
willingness to accept.
