arranged with the Hongkong Bank to keep open a safe for me until I came with the money. At 8 o'clock I placed all the money in the safe and on Monday the 28th. I opened the account in the name of the Governor, The amount so collected by me within the 8 days and paid into the Bank amounted to $165,280. 57 and the Bank recounted the money on Monday the 28th, and
certified the arcunt to be exactly correct.

After that the deposits were paid into the Treasury direct on ay certificate as to the amount and during the 15 years the Fraya Reclamation forks have been car- ried out I have conducted the whole of the correspondence with the Marine Lotholders relating to the Fraya Reclaration con- tributions amounting to 159 in number with total estimated
contribution of $2,942,918.

there were also a number of conflicting cases of Tities which have all been settled by me, with two exceptions, without appeal to the Supreme Court.

Sometime afterwards during the great depression the Colony was passing through it was suggested that the Fraya Reclamation Works should stop and I was instructed to take the vote of all the Marine Lot Ownses upon the subject, which I did and resulted in the Reclamation Works being con-
tinued to a finish.

For this extra work, I shall be glad to
receive such remuneration out of the Praya Reclamation Fund as to His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government
may seem just.

During my absence in 1901 and 1902 my Assistant Mr. Hakeman conducted the correspondence and the making and collection of calls for the fund and I therefore have the honour to suggest that he may be also suitably re-
munerated
