I know Sam Yin (points him out). I be-

came acquainted with him 3 years ago. He is an accountant for a

gambling house in a Lane. He used to live at No. 3 East Street.

I know No. 9 Circular Pathway. It is Tang Chung's Club. Tang

Chung told me to go there to fetch money for No. 48 Sergeant.

Sergeant No. 48 is Sergeant Hoit. 1 went myself to No. 9 Circu-

lar Pathway. Since the beginning of this Chinese Year I have

taken money for Sergeant Bolt six times. I used to go once a

week. I used to get $10.50 each time. Tang Chung used to hand

the money himself to me. The money used to be done up in a

parcel, there was nothing written on the parcel. Inside were

bank notes and 10 cent pieces. After receiving the money 1

handed it over to Sergeant Holt. Sometimes I paid it in the

street and sometimes at the Central Station when the prisoners

were released early in the morning.

After 1 had received the money six times

Tang Chung told me that I need not receive the money any more.

I dont know why.

i have never had any dispute or quarrel

with Sergeant Holt.

The money that I paid to Bolt was paid as

bribes for the Wa Lane Gambling House.

I myself received bribes from this gam-

bling house in ka Lane. While I was in receipt of bribes 1 did

not report the gambling house.

i do not know whether Sergeant Holt ever

reported the Gambling house.

No questions.

Sergeant Bolt states that he does not

wish to make any staterent and has nothing to say.
