With reference to paragraph 2 of Mr.

Chamberlain's Despatch No. 364 of the 6th. ultimo, I have the

honour to inform you that the issue of such a Certificate as

is referred to therein does not appear to be necessary. In

cases wherein the Government appeals against an award of the

Land Court I an advised that the Crown Solicitor would be

entitled to apply to the Court to state and certify the value

of the claims concerned in the litigation.
