With reference to your letter No. 6137 of

the 5th. instant, I am directed to request you to inform the Conrodore that the Government is unable to acquiesce in the deliri- tations marked in the plan submitted therewith without consider- able modifications. I transmit herewith a tracing prepared by the Director of Public Works, and am to express the hope that the Commodore will see his way to amend the plan forwarded by him so that it may be in agreement with that which I now enclose. I am to point out that the Government cannot consent to the line defining the Eastern boundary of the Naval Yard Reclamation as it is laid down on the tracing signed by Mr. Ordish.

(Sd.) J. H. Stewart Lockhart,

Colonial Secretary.
