I enclose statements regarding the escape of a prisoner from
Police Custody.
There was certainly some carelessness in the way the prisoners
and for it I have were sent back to the Court after the adjournment severely repremande] £.P.C.121 Maclean. I consider that a sufficient punishment as the procedure was unusual and he tought the prisoners were sufficiently well guarded by an Indian P.C., a C.C., and a D.#.
They should have been confined in the Magistracy cell during the adjournment. - But, the E.P.C.' in charge of it No.5 Golfrey was not there, He has been sent to Hospitel and is 1 am told seriously ill,
so I have not been able to hear what he has to say.
The prisoners were let out before C.C.152 and C.C.390 had arrived.
sufficient They arrived subsequently and i time for the sitting of the Court but
and C.C.152 found the prisoners had then been sent back to Court that his prisoner was not forth coming He hai escaped.
Your Excellency.
