As you say too the pay seems inadequate.
Our men on Sterling Salaries will get for this month $89.88 with
no compensating reduction in prices of necessaries or luxuries to
satisfy them for what they consider a loss of about £1 a month.
Some readjustment is required. I do not think any alteration to
the Pension Regulations desirable as it would put men joining on
a different footing to those already serving, and to those in th
Straits and Federated Malay States Service.
