Sir,
With reference to your letter of the 31s
uitimo, I am directed to inform you that His Excellency the
Governor regrets to learn that you have had any personal alter
cation with Mr. Justice Wise, but that as the relations betwee
Mr. Wise and yourself on that occasion appear to have been en-
tirely unofficial, and as there was no public scandal in con-
nection therewith, His Excellency does not consider the ratte
as one in which he is called upon to interfere.
