sir,

I have the honour to transmit for your

favourable consideration the enclosed copy of a letter from

the trustees of the Jewish Synagogue in this Colony applying

for the free grant of a piece of land to be used as an exten-

sion of the Jewish Cemetery.

2.

There is no objection on the part of this

Goverment to the proposed extension. The amount of land asked

for is slightly over one acre, and the manner in which it

will be laid out is shown on the accompanying tracing. It is

valued by the Director of Public Works at $7,773.00. The

present Cemetery is very small and is now full; an extension

is therefore a necessity, and the area for which application

has been made would be in every respect suitable. I recommend

that it be granted to the trustees at a nominal Crown Rent of

$1.00 per annum.

Enclosure 2.

I have the honour to be,

sir,

Your most obedient

Humble servant,

Heung adhake

Governor, &c..

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE

THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR THE

COLONIES.
